Monday Listicles
Aug 12
This week’s list is brought to you by Lisa. She states simply, “10 Things my Parents did Right”
1. They found each other.
2. They had a second baby after me.
3. They were affectionate.
Since Mom did most of the raising herself, she gets credit for all of the rest:
4. She taught us that a woman can do it all, with a little help from family along the way.
5. She taught us an appreciation for travel.
6. She taught us how to dust correctly (you must remove the items from the shelf; don’t just dust around them).
7. She had us completely prepared for puberty, sex and womanhood.
8. She taught us how to love a child, celebrate a child and soothe a child.
9. She taught us the importance of grandparents.
10. She said no when necessary and gave us appropriate consequences.

Your Mom done did good, Kim. She also set a good example. And, something tells me she is proud of the way you are being a parent to Noah.
I parent a LOT like her with a few tweeks here and there. That’s what makes her an even better gramma.
Your Mom sounds amazing! The dusting one cracked me up. We’d get in trouble for “cheating” on that one…
So would we!!!
I love number 2 and I want to know more about number 7!
Do you have specific questions? I can help you, Ado…although by now you should know pretty much all there is to know…
Great list. Sounds like your mom had it together and prepared you well for life. My mom taught me to dust the same way!!!
My grandma too. But I have selective memory.
It’s very important to dust that way and NOT go out riding horses.
I love your list and you’re so classy to give 100 percent credit to your mom for the rest. Her lesson in dusting says it all!
Mom is a very clean person, you know.
A very nice tribute.
Thank you.
Can she come talk to my daughter regarding #7?
She or me. Or the two of us together. We’re very well-versed.
Your mommy did a fantastic job. I miss you, friend
Thanks Delilah. I miss you too, actuallly!!
I’m down with all of these great lessons, except #6. You don’t really do that do you?
Um YES. IMPERATIVE.
Only you would include dusting in the list!
My grandma taught me how to dust properly but my grandpa took me out for long bike rides so I did not have to
Love this. Yeay mommy!!
Hahaha! Thanks for knowing me so well Stasha. I am a clean-lovin’ freak. Blame it on my mym AND my aunt, with whom I spent my before and after schools.
I am so glad that I understood the importance of grandparents. I had an amazing relationship with both my Great-Grama and my Grama because of this lesson. I also loved that you noted that they were affectionate. So important in my books. gret list!
Thank you! Affection is one of the important ones for me. I had a very affectionate family on my mom and dad’s sides and my sister and I are the same with our children and spouses.
