Ten Sounds That Drive me Bonkers

This one is ridiculous.  Give me 5 seconds.  Go:

1.  “Marco!  Polo!”

2.  Luke whining at Noah’s door for 2 hours until Noah wakes up.

3.  The TV up loud when I’m working.

4.  The sound of a little kid’s voice announcing hunger/thirst 1 minute after walking through my door.

5.  Pulling styrofoam out of a box.  I get the chills thinking about it.

6.  The sound of a doctor with a heavy accent attempting to dictate a report.

7.  A person speaking loudly on a cellphone in a public place indoors.

8.  The Phinneas and Ferb song.

9.  Screaming children being ignored by their mother.

10.  “Marco!  Polo!”

Lots of swimming games at your house, huh? I confess. We did P&F in our house and I sing it the loudest.

Noah watches that and Suite Life every day of every summer.

  2. Brandee /

I hate the sound of styrofoam coming out of the box too. Sounds like there is a lot of marco polo at your house!

  3. Bridget /

Why so harsh on a fun pool game?

    • Kimberly Pugliano /

You obviously have no pool with bitchy little girls who dominate it.

  4. Diane /

    Marco! Polo! …..LMAO!!!!!

    • Kimberly Pugliano /

I’m not laughing. Seriously. I’m frowning at you.

Totally don’t share your hatred of Marco! Polo! It’s the best way to find someone when you know they’re somewhere in the house…

    • Kimberly Pugliano /

Well THERE’S an idea Jo! Never thought to play it indoors!

  6. Mamarazzi /

Oh i listed the loud cellphone talkers too, so annoying!!

popping over from Monday Listicle, it’s my first week playing, not sure if people visit each other but i thought i would try to visit a few blogs.

YES WE DO!!!! It’s the perfect way to advertise yourself!

Ooh that styrofoam one is a great one!! I hate that to but forgot about it in all my excitement…

Number 7 is my mother. I am sorry. She pulled out her cell the other day while in the car with me and was literally YELLING into the phone! I winced with every word. Had I not needed my hands for the wheel I would’ve certainly plugged both ears until her conversation was over. She hangs up and promptly says, “Your dad said he couldn’t hear me”.

    NO KIDDING?!

Hahahaha! My mom calls while driving and then gives commentary and what she’s seeing and how people are driving. Grrrr

  9. Sisterhood of the Sensible Moms /

I HATE Marco Polo too! It is not just the incessant screeching of the same two words over and over again, but the squabbling and bickering that erupts because everyone ALWAYS cheats. Glad to find a soul sister in this! Ellen

    • Kimberly Pugliano /

That’s exactly why I hate it! They fight incessantly and last month when it was Noah cheating Maddie yelled at him and he yelled back and her mom told him not to talk to her like that and then proceeded to scream at him for OPENING HIS EYES FIVE TIMES YOU DISRESPECTFUL BRAT! Over and over before kicking him out of the pool. I have yet to call her on this. THEY ALL CHEAT and he NEVER disrespects adults (except me, Joe, Gramma and Auntie).

OMG YES to #5!!!!!!!!!!!! skeeves me out!

  11. Stasha /

I have my hairs standing up still stuck on #5!! Marco ….Nah, just messing with you.

    • Kimberly Pugliano /

Seriously, the kids are playing it right now. RIGHT. NOW.

  12. Nami /

“Styrofoam out of a box” – hate that, too – even more than nails across a chalkboard. Though, it wouldn’t be as effective if Robert Shaw pulled Styrofoam out of a box in “Jaws.”

  13. Robbie /

why do people insist on having loud, very personal conversations on their cell phones in public? I want to karate kick them.

  14. Delilah /

    Marco? Marco? Marco? Marco?

I’m going to send you a totally awesome present but I’m going to pack it inside a ton of styrofoam. Bahahahaha!

  15. Susi /

My Yorkie whines when she wants up somewhere (sofa, bed, etc. )– drives me crazy!!!

    • Kimberly Pugliano /

Luke is really good at it, too. It’s almost imperceptible.

  16. Rach (DonutsMama) /

Oh my goodness, the styrofoam bugs me so badly too! Sets my teeth on edge.

  17. SouthMainMuse /

Marco Polo….that is funny. It does go on and on. Especially when you are trying to relax with a good book pool side.

  18. Audrey /

I wish I had a pool! And yes Styrofoam is super annoying and gives me the heeby jeebies!

  19. Katie E /

Hahaha…I forgot how much I hated Marco Polo! But I do know that the Phineas and Ferb song drives me crazy – especially because it gets stuck in my head.

  20. Heather /

I use Marco Polo when we’re hiking. If the Padawan scoots too far away, it’s our signal that he’s not in trouble, I’m just checking in. It’s less obnoxious than in a pool.

  21. Hippie Cahier /

Just reading about the styrofoam makes me cringe.

  22. Lenore /

“Mom! Phinneas and Ferb are writing a title sequence!” Number 8 cracks me up, because that is exactly where Joe and Charlie are – the are in the P & F phase. I admit, though, I kinda like it.

All the other noises, I agree with you 100%. Charlie’s whining grates my nerves faster than anything. Actually, “Hey Mommy” followed by a question is currently on the list of annoying noises. *sigh*

  23. With thise move, Blizzard isn’t so much legitimizing this brand of play, as countering it simply by bringing it to light – weight. They certainly don’t should concede to the “unstoppable” gold-farmers and continue business as usual. If their product will unquestionably spawn some bizarro mini-economy, it’s not only their right however imperative to take it in balance and assume a portion of the profits earned on THEIR software running on THEIR realms.

  24. seems like every match up devs always can do a MMO that fits the already released those, but it’s not more likely to happen, the current released MMO’s ended up boring, I wonder why devs keep working to make something big when they already know it will fail…
