Runstreak/Update – Week 27
Jul 07
SUNDAY
Tomorrow Dick’s wife and kids leaves to return home to Kansas. Dick is Joe’s best friend since the Navy. He and Laura have 4 kids. In about a year Dick will be retired and returning to Kansas to finally be with his family. After I finished working we went straight to see them and spend the rest of the day with them. We didn’t get home until around 8:00. Thus, no running.
MONDAY
I waited until almost 5 to run today. So much nicer in the evening. It took me a minute longer to get back, but I also went a bit further somehow, so there.
TUESDAY
Today Noah and I went to visit Syl and her new baby Daisy (and of course her siblings Jude and Zoey who lost it when they saw their cousin Noah). The first time I saw Daisy was about 2 minutes after I missed the actual birth and she was laying on her mommy looking like her brother Jude. Today she looked like Zoey. So so pretty she is, in her…wait for it…white onesie with purple flowers and…ready…a purple tu-tu. Are you serious?!?! Is THIS what I’m missing by having a boy? Oy. It just does not get any sweeter than that. Seriously. When I got home, I quickly hydrated and took off and I think we did pretty well. Lukey was funny. Headed up the hill he all of a sudden picked up his speed and was ahead of us. When I said, “Good boy Luke!” he smiled and started running faster. I kept trying it and every time he’d turn to look at me, smile and start running faster. It was so cute. Except for the part where Allie got jealous and kept jumping on me. I told her I’d cheer for her if she’d run like Luke.

WEDNESDAY
I won’t be running today. Instead I will be baking an apple pie and heading over to a friend’s house with my family to celebrate our country’s independence. I really hope Dina-Marie makes sangria. She makes the best sangria. Oh wait. She’s pregnant.  Water it is!
THURSDAY
Good run! Kept it under 40 minutes and Luke pooped while running. I’m so proud of him for that. No work tomorrow. I have no idea if I’ll be running or not but I hope I will!
FRIDAY
My sweet husband left for work and was back 20 minutes later, too weak in his back to stay. When he threw it out on the 4th he really hurt himself, poor guy. He climbed back into bed and we pushed it as long as we could and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING today. He couldn’t, so I stayed with him. He slept a lot so I read a lot (and napped myself). I’m sure tomorrow won’t be much different for him but I’ll take Noah to the pool.
SATURDAY
Call me lazy. Calle me fat. Call me ugly, but don’t call me not a family lover! We got to the pool around 1 today. My cousin Sylvia, her husband and their three little ones (Daisy is only 3 weeks old!!!) showed up soon after followed by my cousin Sharon, her husband and their little one. Sharon and Jeff left 15 minutes before me. I left at 5:15 after Joe pointed out that even though I have a tan on my arms and chest from my #runstreak I still should have put sunscreen there. Oh yeah, and on my knees too. This was our first Saturday that we were home and the weather was pool-worthy. Worth every minute. So my #runstreak will pick back up tomorrow. No harm no fowl. Just not a productive week!

Going to the pool is exercise!!!
