Runstreak/Update – Week 29

Jul 21

SUNDAY

I did not streak today.  Yesterday I was sitting by or floating on a pool with 11 other girls, a vast array of appetizers and every alcohol you can think of from 11:30 to 7:30.  Then I got up to work today at 6.  I only had 3 drinks spread out between waters but I still was not feeling up to exercising.  Oh but it was worth it!!

MONDAY

I know we’re supposed to switch it up and not stick to the same route all the time so I went back to my original route, doubling the hill.  Every time my phone told me another 3 minutes had gone by I freaked out a little because I felt like it was taking too long, but when I got home I was 6-7 minutes over my usual time and from 3.1 miles to 3.6.  I miss my pups.

TUESDAY

Holy wow!  I ran a little further than yesterday (being as I was in the street so much avoiding dog strollers and other people with dogs), and then I got stuck behind the church lady and her full-grown unemployed fat-ass son walking from the pool to their place, past mine, not waiting for me or letting me pass, just strolling slowly up the pathy while I breathed heavily as close to her as humanly possible after running and not wearing deodorant because I had a mammogram today and it only took me 12 seconds longer than yesterday.  And did I happen to mention I had the dogs?  How about the fact that Luke pooped?  Twice! And I did the double hill!!!! Good streak today.  I am smiling.

WEDNESDAY

I ran out of work today, so I went at noon since the weather isn’t bad.  Warm with a cool breeze but a little humid because we’re expecting thunder showers tonight.  I did the double hill and Luke pooped twice, but the second poop he didn’t even stop for.  He’s really quite amazing, I must say.  Sometimes.

THURSDAY

I got off to a slow start today, what with Luke acting like he had to poop when really he was just wanting to mark his territory left and right.  When he finally actually had to poop I didn’t believe him at first.  We were headed up our first hill when the pups suddenly started pulling at me from behind and after no amount of yanking would bring them up I turned around to see Noah on his bike behind us.  Nice surprise!  Only, when he rode on ahead the dogs pulled as hard as they could to catch up and I couldn’t run up that hill to catch him so now I was struggling with them.  Noah would get way ahead and then stop to wait for us and when I finally started running he gave me a thumbs up and I got a break from the dogs.  We turned the corner and headed down hill and when we got to the first street I surprised Noah when I kept on running.  The dogs pulled backwards again.  Noah rode past us and Allie passed behind me to catch him, nearly tripping me from behind.  When we got to the corner I told Noah that I turn around, head up the hill, come back down and then head home.  When we got to the top I was over the company, over the dogs and didn’t want to deal with the lady and her dog running at my dogs two more times (down then up), so I told Noah I was just going to head home.  He went on without me.  I love him, but this really is a solitary sport for me.

FRIDAY

I had planned on streaking today, but I watched a friend’s little boy during the day and went out to dinner with some girlfriends during the day (oh so fun!) and painted my toes in between that.  I simply had no time for my toes to dry so I could put on socks and running shoes.  You know what, though?  I have no doubt in my mind that I will go tomorrow.  I don’t dread it, I don’t hate it, it isn’t killing me, so I’m looking forward to it.

SATURDAY

The last day of my streak week.  It’s been a really great week, too.  Today’s streak was good, though a bit annoying.  The dogs were acting like dogs and sometimes that’s not conducive to exercising.  Like when bunnies pop out of the bushes to run past us.  Not conducive to Allie staying with Mommy.  Or when look keeps changing sides with Allie, from behind, getting his leash stuck on Allie’s tail every time.  I considered leaving them home tomorrow, but as I type this Allie is right below me looking up at me, her favorite human in the world.  So tomorrow we return again, as a threesome.

TOTALS FOR THE WEEK

Right? No time to waste. Or should I say no time to stop and waste? Luke really does rule the world sometimes.
