Saturday Runstreak/Update – Week 24

Jun 16

Yes, that does say SATURDAY Runstreak.  Yesterday was too hectic and I think Saturday might be better anyway.  You never know when I might decide to run on a Saturday (not today) though.

SUNDAY

I always always always run on Sundays but this time I didn’t.  Hot Joe and I were busy the entire weekend and had an 80th birthday party to attend and by the time we got back the both of us just wanted to relax, so we did.  I guess that means I’ll have some making up to do.

MONDAY

Today wasn’t bad.  We three got out there and did our things and the only thing that remotely went wrong was the street sweeper scared the holy heck out of my poor pups.  Luke just suddenly starting running fast but Allie attempted to physically jump into my arms.

TUESDAY

I was telling Noah today that each time I start my runstreak I tell myself, “You don’t have to turn around at the top of the hill and run back down; you can just keep going and head home.  You don’t have to run at all; you can get a good fast walk in and you’ll go the same distance, take longer and burn more calories.  You don’t have to take a longer route; there are plenty of chances to shorten it.  However you do it, you’re doing it and that’s half the battle.”  It actually helps get me out there and I remind myself when it starts to hurt that I can always go another way.  Sometimes I do, but usually I keep on trekking.

WEDNESDAY

I was dressed and ready to go.  I was fed and watered and just needed to stretch and we could leave.  Then I sat down.  “Just give me a few minutes pups,” I told them.  It was that day of the week where I hit the wall.  I was asleep in the chair in seconds, waking up as Hot Joe got home.  No run.  But at least I’m more rested!!!

THURSDAY

I’m not sure if I’ll have an opportunity to run tomorrow because we have a pretty big day ahead of us.  I think I can swing it in the morning.  Either way, with Sunday a goner and yesterday’s nap I really need to make sure I run today.  When we started out Luke immediately headed for the ivy, which is a sure sign that he needs to (of course) POOP, but when he was in there he was just lookin around.  I don’t have time for that.  Either you’re looking for a place to pee or you’re just messing around and if you really needed to poop you would have gotten into position already, and since you aren’t, I’m yanking your butt outta there.  Not 30 seconds later Luke pulls me over to the grass on the main street for all to see and does his business.  Damn you Lukey!!!  Good run, though.

FRIDAY

It’s a big day today. BIG BIG day.  NO TIME FOR RUNSTREAK!

SATURDAY

Norunning today, unless running around picking up stuff and getting a Father’s Day gift running. No?  Okay then have a great week.

  1. I think I like Wednesday best. But I am proud of you for running the other days.

  2. So jealous of your nap. But at least you taught me how it’s done. Fed, watered and dressed to sweat, flop in chair and hit snooze = love it.

PS: Happy Dad’s day, Hot Joe
