What I’ve Been up to/Runstreak

Oct 27

Sunday

Listening to:  Evanescence, The Open Door

Great workout.  Only one annoying person at the beginning of the route.  A lady was picking up her dog’s poop.  He was a very fat min-pin.  I jumped into the street with the pups and the woman apparently didn’t hear us coming so she ignore her dog’s leash sitting on the sidewalk and let him run up to my dogs.  I was so proud of all dogs involved.  The little dog ran up, got scared and turned and ran away.  My dogs just looked at the other dog and got lots of, “Good puppies!!!  Mommy is so happy!” after.

I showered and prettied-up and we later went to the Janss Marketplace, had some dinner at Greco’s and went to the Reign of Terror haunted house.   So fun.  So scary!  It was actually set up like a house.  Awesome.  Hot Joe and Noah went through twice.  I bowed out the second time.

MONDAY

Listening to:  Evanescence, The Open Door

Today was an even better day!  I brought my average mile down.  We passed only one man with his dog who we know and the pups ignored him – with praise.  Really good workout.  I didn’t sit down until 5:00.  Run, pick up Noah, help him with homework, run to the post office, home and a shower and now I sit with my husband while Noah plays outside.  Good day.

THURSDAY

Listening to:  Alice in Chains, Rotten Apple

No, I have NOT streaked in two days.   Tuesday was an early day for the kids so Jessica (next-door neighbor who rides to and from school with us) stayed at our house until her brother got home a couple of hours later.  She needed help with her math homework.  And she likes being here.  When she left I showered and prettied up for Hot Joe.  The end.  Wednesday was go,go,go.  I hardly had a chance to breathe.  After work I showered, dressed, picked up Wyatt’s stuff from Beth’s office, went to the dentist, brought the kids home (including Wyatt), helped with homework, took Wyatt to practice then Joe got home and we went to the Parents’ house for dinner.  When we got home I had $840 worth of Scentsy product on my doorstep that I had to sort and pack for delivery today.  Goodness.

I went today, though.  Shorter route (thanks stomach issues), but I went, and that’s a positive in my book.

FRIDAY

Listening to:  P!nk, The Truth About Love (I’m obsessed)

Great run today.  You may have noticed my stats look different.  Well that’s because I changed my running app.  The old one updated and after it counted down to start it notified me, “Begin exercising” and then the time started and the music stopped.  I couldn’t reverse the update and I wasn’t going to stop listening to music or stop to find the music app and push start so I got rid of it.  At Bridget’s suggestion, I switched to Nike + Running which I totally love.  First of all it’s pretty and colorful and gives you a cheer when you’re done.  Secondly, it counts down to start and when the exercise begins so does the music, because it’s implemented through the app itself.  Awesomesauce!!!  I don’t know my best before because I deleted my account, but as of today with Nike + I have hit a new fastest mile:  13 minutes 59 seconds.  I’m under 14!!  Yay!  I also like that it gives me my distance in miles but since my favorite route is 3.33 miles it also lets me know that I just ran a 5K.  No, I don’t run the whole thing.   I walk it, run it, walk it, run it and then walk about the last minute, but one day…

I have a really neat story about the dogs on the run, but I’m holding onto it for now.  Great day.  I love my Fridays when I’m able to nap and be productive.  I got in my nap, I cleaned, I streaked, I cleaned some more, I picked up the kids from school, and I showered and prettied up before my hot husband got home.  Great Friday.  Great day.

SATURDAY

Listening to:  “Leon:  The Professional” on DVD

Not streaking today.  Nope.  Got a big day planned.  Target and a few other errands and then Marc and Tanya’s “They are older than me” birthday party.  I’m off!!!  Have a great weekend.

  1. “They Are Older Than Me,” birthday parties are totally drunk-worthy. Good job, puppies for sticking to the course – my boys – never – ever – did that. Maybe I need to put them on a leash.
