About the Silent G
My name is Kimberly Pugliano (the G is silent) and I am married to Hot Joe. Together we are raising our son Noah James, our dogs Allie (whose face you see above) , little Luke, and Snickers the cat. We live in southern California, in the city where I grew up, within a 10-mile radius of a trillion 28 family members (so far).
I work from home doing medical transcription. I read a lot of books, do a little stalking, bake a bunch of goodies, and run many miles with my dogs. I Facebook, Tweet, StumbleUpon, LinkIn, BlogFrog, Google+ and Pin(terest). I also drink a lot of wine and a little vodka, and I’ve been known to curse all the damn time occasionally. One last thing, I have been blessed with OCD, anxiety disorder and bipolar 2, which also tend to creep into many posts.
All of the above is fodder for my blog.
I started KimPugliano.com on August 5, 2010 and I have no plans of stopping any time soon. I also co-blog on occasion with my friend Lenore from lenorediane.com. Our comparing and contrasting opinions can be found at kimberlyandlenore.com.
Take a look around. I’ve had a lot to say and plan to say a lot more. I hope you enjoy what you see and suscribe if you haven’t already.

Saw your commment at http://www.pithypants.com and laughed out loud because I’m a mom of twins and work at a school library and I don’t like kids (!). Actually, I like them on a kid by kid basis. Some days, mine don’t even make the cut. Then I found your blog and my jaw dropped — I just finished two years doing medical transcription (we were all laid off-VR software sux!). Anyway, I’ll be back to check your blog.
Hahaha!! There are way more of us than we realized, huh? Welcome to my blog! Come back often. I’ve been doing medical transcription for about 10 years now. I love love love what I do, but mostly because I get to wear my jammies.
What is medical transcription? I really am looking for a stay-at-home job.
It’s typing what doctors dictate. You have to go to school to learn the medical terminology and the typing aspect and honestly it can take years before you can make decent money working from home.
Hi Kim – I’m your Mom’s cousin (also yours!) I talked to your Mom tonight to give her my regards and sympathy on her step-mothers passing. She was telling me about your blog and was kind enough to send me your info. I was amazed that you look exactly like your Mom. I had to look twice to be sure it wasn’t her. I enjoyed reading your blog on middle school and told my brother who is a principal of Hale Middle School to be sure to read what you had to say. I plan to keep up with your work. I am proud to be related to you. Keep up the good work. All my best Sandy.
Sandy! I saw your name and knew exactly who you were! I’m so very flattered that you enjoyed what I had to say and I hope you visit again! Thank you so much.
I just ordered some of those free magnets through the magnetsonthecheap.com and they shared a link to your blog as someone who had recently also ordered from them. Cool car magnets! And even cooler? I’m a medical transcriptionist too! I’ve been doing it now for – let’s see…..daughter just turned 13 so…..13 years now! The website I referenced above is my charity-type blog. I make photo pendants for bereaved family & friends who have lost a loved one, usually a child or baby. My personal blog is private though due to fakers and hackers alike. Gotta protect what’s mine! Anyway, I just thought it was neat as I hardly ever meet, in real life or otherwise, another transcriptionist.
Firstly, I had no idea they had a link-back. Awesome sauce! Secondly, I’ve been at this for 11 years about, so I can be home with my son. You too, right? I’ve met a couple of others through Facebook who work for the same company as I. I’d love to know more about you!!!
Yes! I got into it so I could work from home
I did put in a year at a local hospital to get some experience and since then its been gravy finding jobs. I currently work for a local retina specialist but I’ve done it all. I’ve worked at big companies, small companies and been an independent contractor. I definitely prefer working as a contractor as I get paid better. I bet I’ve probably worked for the same company you currently work for too
I totally LOVE my job for one of the same reasons you stated – I get to wear my jammies to work!! LOL! Of course, these days I’m running my kids all over the place so I have to get dressed. I have 5 kids, the oldest is 16 and the youngest will be 2 in July. They keep me crazy busy!
I didn’t wander here because of a car magnet but I think it’s awesome you have one! Camr from Namzola’s blog.
I love me some Nami. She slays me. If you read my post

you’ll see all about the magnet. It’s truly awesomesauce.
Hi! I’ve been trying to leave this comment in response to your YeahWrite69 post but WordPress won’t let me. Thought I’d try to leave it here instead!
Great story! I loved the details and the pacing. I’d love to read part 2 where you focus on her relationship with her dad (for example – why she’s so sure he will be mad at her instead of compassionate and understanding. Cami doesn’t sound like a fuck up, just a young woman learning to make choices, some good, some potentially self-destructive – why is she so convinced she’s a fuck-up. I bet you can come up with lots of juicy details.) So fun! Great job!
